Toothbrush Jedi : Taken for a commercial photography course at the Lorenzo de Medici school in Florence, this is a series I playfully entitled "Toothbrush Jedi". We were tasked with producing a mock advertising campaign for the product of our choice: toothbrushes it is.

EDH Final Portfolio : Emma Dodge Hanson, a photographer based in Saratoga Springs NY, takes on a few interns each semester to help her with post-processing. In return, interns are given the opportunity to second shoot as well as take part in her weekly assignments and critiques. At the end of the semester the interns' best work is put on exhibit in a Skidmore show entitled "Eye Level". This is my work from that semester, with the respective assignment noted in the caption under each photograph.

Night in Firenze : This is a project I undertook for my Photojournalism course at the Lorenzo de Medici School in Florence. The city is typically overflowing with crowds seeking the headline sights of Florence: the Duomo, Uffizi, Accademia, Ponte Vecchio, and Piazza della Signoria. But sheltered within the stillness of the late night hours, these bustling tourist sights exude an entirely different contemplative, peaceful, and sometimes even ominous air. This is an empty Florence.

Skidmore Spur : A selection of photos from the first and second iterations of the Skidmore Spur, a charitable calendar I started featuring Skidmore clubs.

Koh Rong Story : Koh Rong is Cambodia’s largest island, 30 square miles of white sand beaches dotted with palm trees and dense inland jungle. There are five villages on the island that together house close to 2,000 people. This particular village, Koh Roung, and its 170 inhabitants sit in a prime location; right next to the tourist-attracting Dive Shop as well as three nearby western resorts that make up most of the half dozen attractions on the island. The inhabitants of Koh Roung village have lived here for about twenty years now, yet in 2008 the Royal Group, an enormous Cambodian conglomerate, was given exclusive access to the relatively undeveloped Koh Rong island. The chairman of the company, Kith Meng, is quoted in an eHotelier.com article, “Cambodia's tourism has so far focused almost exclusively on the world famous temples of Angkor Wat, but the potential of this beautiful coastline is the missing link in the development of our tourism sector.” Such development could have a beneficial economic impact for the locals, yet threats of eviction currently haunt many villagers’ aspirations for the future. Only time will tell whether Koh Rong will become yet another beautiful locale overdeveloped by commercial interests or a culturally sensitive eco-friendly paradise.
